HTC Evo Stops a Bullet Saving Owner's Life [Video]

A valet at an Atlanta nightclub cheated death when his cell phone, tucked in his breast pocket, stopped a bullet.

John Garber's HTC Evo was shattered but its battery managed to stop the bullet. He says he will never buy another brand of cell phone again.

I'm pretty sure they've already tried a similar "myth", and as they confirmed and many have said on many tech sites about this, a phone can not possibly stop a direct bullet. Even if the phone wouldn't have been in the way this pullet could not have had enough force to inflict a lethal wound, if it did it would have passed straight trough the phone

@virtual-oz: radiation from cellular phones has not been shown to cause deleterious effects. the research is inconclusive. but go ahead and wear your foil hat if it makes you feel better.

Oh comeon, guys, it's not Apple news. But good news overall. Good for him. And about the phone, there's probably more phones out there that could stop a bullet fired from some distance away. They should make videos of that just like the 'will it blend' thing

It's somewhat funny because everyone knows that cell phones kill us slowly (radiation etc.). But nevertheless he's a lucky fella! I'm happy for this this person!
