This seems like a cool idea, but I just installed idroid and it seems pretty useless. What's so great about the Android OS over iOS anyway? I'm happy with my iPhone. Is it just that we like to have options available to us? because I just don't understand the need, but that's just me.

Since I've installed my Iphone 3G became unstable. It was resetting often. Yesterday I was playing Angry Birds and it has reset. I put it to charge and went to sleep. It has stayed at boot screen and drained the battery. Now I can't boot in iOS! It stays on that "charging red" screen. Booting in iDroid it shows "charging 0%" and doesn't charge. I have left both cases for hours and Iphone doesn't charge anymore. The only solution I can imagine is take some charged battery and install it in my iphone in order to boot and remove openiboot. Any other suggestion? I don't have a spare Iphone to take off the battery.

Hi, you may want to enter DFU mode and then restore your iPhone in Itunes.

I had same thing happen - caused by bad wall charger, underpowered charger--- First plug your iphone into USB2.0 or higher on your computer with computer running. Then RESET iphone, while connected, by holding down the power and home buttons together for several seconds... Then, once iphone reboots, reboot the computer, while the iphone is still connected... This is the process that brought mine back to life. Hope it works!!

...hmmm...thx, for the quick reviews, I guess I'll keep my eye on it for the future releases, it's promising to have options since I know at some point Mapple will just drop the 3G and ppl I know will ask me what to do, I wish I can say "oh well, just put some good old Android!!!"

You will need to re-jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.6b1. Bootlace doesn't currenlty work with b2

Is it possible for somebody to make or point to a brief review of how it works, what works, applications, etc. I really want to c, if using android will make a better use of the device itself instead of the iPhone OS.

I installed it on my 3g yesterday, the os is very buggy. won't read my sim, made the iphone super warm. The only app that i've tried was the camera but it kept on crashing. The unlock screen is very unresponsive. NOT worth going thru all the trouble...

What trouble.. this cydia app does everything for you.. LOL

ktula - November 10, 2010 at 11:35pm
I second that warm comment. Some process/es is definitely running that is making the phone very warm and draining its battery. Not sure how one installs additional app since the Android Marketplace is not installed. There also does not appear to be a way to configure Contacts/Calendar sync without using Exchange.

3GS and iPhone4 have new bootrom that needs to be hacked first. No exploit - no Android (and no custom bootlogos).
