DataLore 1.1 Ships with New Interface

XtraLean Software has announced the release of DataLore Version 1.1, the latest update to its file searching tool for Mac OS X. DataLore is a unique front end to Spotlight that makes it easier and faster to search and share files both locally on one's own computer, as well as on other Macs on the same network.

Version 1.1 adds over a dozen new enhancements to the user interface that simplify browsing the contents of a Mac and the process of displaying the search results, as well as improving the speed of searching locally and on the network. This update also adds a faster search algorithm, more filters for narrowing down search results, plus many more improvements. DataLore uses an innovative "Search-as-You-Type" technology for finding files fast. It also employs "Text Shorthand" and "Special Characters" for highly defined or more complex search patterns. This update adds more than a dozen new enhancements to the interface to simplify browsing the contents of one's own Mac locally, as well as making it simpler to browse the contents of networked Macs. The faster search algorithm and improved interface also make it faster to find and display files, and easier to narrow down and display the search results. The new 'Filters' tab allows users to add more filters to their search in order to further narrow down and customize the search results to their specific needs.

Other features new with this update include the ability to use DataLore as a Finder, 'exclude files' has replaced the former 'exclude folders' feature for faster narrowing down of results, and minor changes have been made to the options for allowing other computers access that make it even faster to search other Macs across the network, plus many other improvements.
