Incredible Bee has announced the release of Yum 4, an update to its cooking companion for Mac OS X. Yum allows users to organize recipes, create shopping lists and copy recipes to their iPhone. The new version offers a redesigned user interface, cloud recipes and smart folders.

Redesigned user interface:
The user interface was redesigned from the ground up by Apple Design Award winner Dietmar Kerschner. The new interface features a corkboard to browse recipes by photo, the ability to search recipes with simple text or advanced filters, and an option to view recipes in full screen.

Cloud recipes:
When you've run out of cooking ideas for dinner, you can tap the Yum community for inspiration and download recipes shared by other users. You can also share your favorite recipes with the community.

Smart folders:
Similar to smart playlists in iTunes, Yum lets you create folders of recipes based on criteria such as text in the name, a certain ingredient or a given rating. Yum will update these folders automatically as you add, remove or edit recipes. For example, you could create a smart folder of recipes with chicken as an ingredient and have the highest rating.

Features in a nutshell:
* Organize recipes with tags, categories, folders and ratings
* Scale recipes to change the number of servings
* Smart copy-paste of ingredients
* Email, print and save recipes to PDF
* Search recipes with simple text or advanced filters
* Save searches to smart folder like in iTunes
* View recipes in full screen
* Copy recipes to your iPhone and iPod touch
* Create shopping list from recipe ingredients
* Email, print and save shopping lists to PDF
* Browse recipes shared by other Yum users
* Share recipes with other Yum users

Pricing and Availability:
Yum is $29 (USD), and available as a free download from the Yum website. It runs initially in a 14-day trial mode with all features active. This is a free upgrade for registered users.
