Grok Voice 3.0 Launches With Improved Call Handling and Sub-Second Latency
Grok Voice 3.0 has launched with improved speech reasoning and customer-support results, while keeping the same per-minute API price as its predecessor. The speech-to-speech model is built for live conversations and voice agents.

The new model leads Artificial Analysis's Speech-to-Speech Index with a score of 86.9, up from 81.3 for Grok Voice 2.0. The index combines speech reasoning, support-call tasks, and preference and task-success results from blind head-to-head conversations.
It also scores 97% on Full Duplex Bench, up from 95.1% for the previous version. That evaluation tests conversational behavior such as handling pauses, taking turns, and responding to interruptions. Speech reasoning rises to 98.5% from 97.2% on Big Bench Audio.

On the separate τ-Voice customer-support benchmark, task success improves to 71.6% from 56.5%. GPT-Live-1 using Astra at medium reasoning scores 74.5%, so Grok does not lead that individual test.
The speed comparison favors Grok against that GPT-Live-1 configuration: time to first audio is 0.81 seconds versus 1.34 seconds, roughly 40% lower. That measures when a response begins, not how long a task takes to finish. Grok Voice 2.0 remains slightly quicker to start at 0.70 seconds.

The announcement also reports a rounded 74% accuracy score on ServiceNow's EVA-Bench, which evaluates enterprise voice agents.
Grok Voice 3.0 powers Grok Bot's voice mode and conversations in Tesla vehicles. Drivers can use Connectors to check a calendar or answer an email, while Grok Bot handles longer tasks such as ordering coffee or booking dinner. Grok's iPhone app also gained CarPlay voice support in May.
For customer service, the developer reports that Starlink call centers use Grok Voice for 20,000 calls a day across multiple languages, resolving roughly 70% without a human. The agent can verify customers, troubleshoot hardware, issue credits, and arrange replacement equipment. About one in four sales calls ends in a purchase.
The Voice Agent API costs $0.08 per minute, or $4.80 per hour, matching Grok Voice 2.0. The pricing documentation also lists a separate $0.004 charge per text input. Agents using the grok-voice-latest model alias have already been upgraded automatically, with no code changes required.
