Apple's latest 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip has dropped to a new all-time low of $949 at Amazon and Best Buy. The deal takes $150 off its $1,099 retail price and marks the lowest price we've tracked for the notebook since its release on March 11.
The discount applies to the configuration with 16GB of unified memory and 512GB of storage. All four finishes are included: Silver, Midnight, Starlight, and Sky Blue. The MacBook Air remains highly portable at just 1.23 kg, while delivering the performance and efficiency gains of the M5 chip.
The M5 features a 10-core CPU and an 8-core GPU, along with a Neural Accelerator built into each core to improve on-device AI performance and Apple Intelligence features. Early reviews have found GPU performance to be roughly 31% faster than the previous generation.
Connectivity is handled by Apple's N1 chip, enabling support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The fanless design includes a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits of brightness, a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, and up to 18 hours of battery life. It ships with macOS Tahoe.
