New iPhones May Not Come With Lightning to Headphone Jack Adapter [Report]

Apple may not include a Lightning to Headphone Jack adapter with its new iPhones this year, according to Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis and his associates.

"We currently model no dongle this year," the analysts predicted, in a research note obtained by MacRumors.

While Barclays did say it may take until May or June to find out for certain if Apple is no longer including the adapter, they lowered quarterly and yearly revenue guidance for Cirrus Logic by up to 5%. Cirrus Logic supplies audio related components found inside the adapter.

With the popularity of wireless headphones and AirPods soaring, the company may no longer feel the adapter is necessary. For those who do still require it, the adapter can be purchased directly from the Apple Store for $9.

Took them (Apple) long enough. I've never used headphones - both wired or wireless.

Makes sense. I haven't used wired headphones since I had my iPhone 6 Plus.
