I am using iPhone 3gs with iOS 4.1 with ipad firmware 06.15.00. I got my phone factory unlocked. And I connected to iTunes and it went through normal process and got stuck after restoring and got a meassage on iTunes" We are sorry, we are unable to proceed with the activation.....". Then I got to know this is happening bcos of my firmware. Now I downloaded latest version of Redsn0w to downgrade the firmware. Now when I follow the steps for downgrading one more issue that the current IPSW (iPhone2,1_6.0.1_10A523_Restore) on my phone is not supported by the redsn0w. It seems that the currently redsn0w cannot support the ios 6.0.1
Please help how should I proceed.

trying this method (make sure itunes is not running in the whole process)
1. open redsn0w
2. select ipsw and direct to ios 6 (not ios 6.0.1)
3. after redsn0w is ready for jailbreak select downgrade from ipad baseband (if you need to install cydia select that as well)t
4. after jailbreak is complete, close redsn0w and plug out your iphone
5. restart your pc/mac
6. open itunes and connect your iphone. It should work
enjoy :)
