Can I add a custom emoji tO my iPhone to use in texting?

Thanks for the answer. I've tried for so many weeks to get a simple peace sign. I've done .jpg, .gif, .bmp and saved to photos and they are always too big or too blurry even if I make them 25x25 or 15x15. Now with your answer I will finally give up on this. I've tried Imoji which says it works but it doesn't and emoji creator - nothing works or make them small enough to fit in text message.
