AirPods Pro 3 Not Launching Until 2026 [Pu]

A new report from GFHK Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu suggests that Apple fans waiting for the next-generation AirPods Pro 3 will have to hold on until 2026. The analyst's updated product roadmap, which was recently shared with investors, indicates mass production for the new earbuds is slated for sometime that year.

The new timeline may come as a disappointment for those hoping for a 2025 release. However, it appears Apple isn't leaving current AirPods Pro 2 owners behind. The company recently announced that an update for AirPods will bring studio audio and camera remote features with the release of iOS 26 this fall. This includes the ability to use AirPods Pro 2 as a wireless microphone for recording studio-quality audio on an iPhone or Mac, and a new camera remote function that lets users take a photo or start a video with a press and hold of the stem, and more.

Other rumored software features for AirPods include automatic pausing when the earbuds detect you've fallen asleep, improved call quality with Voice Isolation, and more seamless audio switching between iPhone and CarPlay.


This new timeline for the AirPods Pro 3 comes amid other reports about Apple's future earwear, including AirPods with integrated cameras and a lighter AirPods Max in 2027.
