Apple has temporarily disabled Apple Intelligence notification summaries for select apps in iOS 18.3 beta 3.
The new beta, seeded to developers today, adds a "Temporarily Unavailable" notice to the 'Summarize Notifications' toggle for certain apps. This notice appears on Apple's News and Sports apps, as well as others like YouTube; however, it does not appear on X.
Under the toggle Apple writes:
---
Summarize content in direct messages and groups of notifications making them more succinct and easier to read.
Summaries may contain errors.
---
The AI summary feature has faced some controversy due to providing incorrect summaries of news articles to users. Apple has not provided a timeline for when the feature will return but is likely working to refine its accuracy and reliability.
