Apple released a firmware update for AirPods Pro 2 and its new AirPods 4 earbuds today.

The firmware is version 7B21 for AirPods Pro 2 (USB-C) and AirPods Pro 2 (Lightning) and 7B20 for AirPods 4 (ANC) and AirPods 4. That's up from 7B19 for all four models previously.

Unfortunately, Apple is not telling us what's new in this build. The release notes just say, "Bug fixes and other improvements."

Firmware updates are delivered periodically while your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Because firmware updates are delivered automatically, you don't need to update your AirPods.

To use your iPhone or iPad to check that your AirPods are up to date, make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the Info button next to the name of your AirPods. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version.

If you don't already have AirPods, they are on sale today!
AirPods Pro 2 (USB-C) - $189.99 ($59.01 off)
AirPods 4 with ANC - $168.99 ($9.01 off)
AirPods 4 - $119 ($10 off)
AirPods 3 - $94 ($75 off)
AirPods Max (Lightning) - $449 ($100 off)
AirPods Max (USB-C) - $539 ($10 off)
