A rare 'Vesica Piscis' iPhone prototype has leaked which appears to have been used for testing haptic feedback volume and power buttons — features that were once rumored but never released.

Shared by 'Apple Demo' on YouTube, the prototype combines elements of both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro. It isn't a functional unit but rather appears to have been used to test specific new components.

On the back of the prototype, the Apple logo has been replaced by the Vesica Piscis symbol, a shape historically associated with creation and innovation.

Unique hardware variations include a copper-coated battery, placeholders for the front-facing camera and Face ID module, machined metal pieces without electronic function, no connection between the screen and logic board, and unpopulated interior connectors.

Most notably, the prototype introduces haptic feedback for the volume and power buttons—a change widely rumored for the iPhone but never realized. Apple reportedly had an effort called 'Project Bongo' to incorporate haptic feedback in physical buttons; however, that functionality has yet to appear in a production model.

The prototype doesn't power on like a typical iPhone but does appear in macOS under the codename 'Bender,' a reference to the popular Futurama character. When connected, it shows basic initialization capabilities.
