Apple Releases Firmware Update for AirPods 4

Posted 4 hours ago by iClarified · 406 views
Apple released a firmware update for its new AirPods 4 earbuds today.

The firmware is version 7B19, up from7A304, which was released in September. It applies to AirPods Pro 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC.

Notably, the 7B19 firmware version is the same as the version recently released to bring Hearing Air functionality to AirPods Pro 2. Since AirPods 4 don't support that feature, it's unclear what's new in the release.

Firmware updates are delivered periodically while your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Because firmware updates are delivered automatically, you don't need to update your AirPods.

To use your iPhone or iPad to check that your AirPods are up to date, make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the Info button next to the name of your AirPods. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version.

If you don't already have AirPods, they are on sale today!
AirPods Pro 2 (USB-C) - $199 ($50 off)
AirPods 4 with ANC - $168.99 ($9.01 off)
AirPods 4 - $119 ($10 off)
