Disney has announced that users can no longer signup for Disney+ or Hulu through the Apple App Store.
Hulu
New and returning subscribers are no longer able to sign up and pay for Hulu through Apple. However, you can see all plans and sign up directly on Hulu.com and can still watch Hulu content on supported Apple devices. If you are an existing Apple-billed subscriber, you will continue to be billed through Apple and can manage your account using Apple Subscription settings. You can confirm if you are billed by Apple on your Hulu Account page — your billing party is listed in the Payment Information section.
Disney+
New and returning subscribers are no longer able to sign up and pay for Disney+ through Apple. However, you can see all plans and sign up directly on DisneyPlus.com and can still watch Disney+ content on supported Apple devices. These changes do not impact existing Apple-billed subscribers.
The move is intended to avoid paying Apple a 30% cut of subscription revenue. Notably, it comes just as Disney has once again significantly increased prices for subscribers. Announced in August, the price hikes affect Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.
