Early benchmarks for the new iPad mini 7 have surfaced on Geekbench ahead of the tablet's release.
There are already over ten results in the benchmark browser for iPad16,2. The average single-core score is 2789 and the average multi-core score is 6666. Compare that to the previous generation at 2121 and 5367.
The benchmark entries reveal that the iPad mini 7 has six-core CPU clocked at 3.78 GHz and 8GB of RAM. Apple says the iPad mini 7 has a 5-core GPU. That's 1-core less than the A17 Pro GPU used for the iPhone 15. Average Metal scores for the new device are 25660. Compare that to the previous generation at 19486.
