New specs for Apple's 2025 iPhone 17 lineup have allegedly been leaked by Haitong Intl Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu. Some of these specifications differ from the Ice Universe leak last month and Pu's previous predictions.
In a recent investment focus report following AAPL earnings, Pu says that the company will introduce significant advancements in processing power, camera systems, and design options for the 2025 lineup.
The iPhone 17 series will purportedly include four variants: the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Each model is set to feature the cutting-edge A19 chipset, with the Pro models equipped with the enhanced A19 Pro N3P for superior performance. The iPhone 17 Slim is expected to replace the iPhone 17 Plus in Apple's lineup; however, it's positioning and pricing is still unclear.
The new lineup offers a range of display sizes, beginning with a 6.1-inch screen on the iPhone 17, extending to 6.6 inches on the iPhone 17 Slim, 6.3 inches on the iPhone 17 Pro, and a 6.9-inch display on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Pu says all devices will feature an aluminum casing, including the Pro models. This would be a significant departure from the titanium casing currently found on the iPhone 15 Pro and expected on the iPhone 16 Pro.
The iPhone 17 lineup brings notable upgrades in camera technology. The standard iPhone 17 is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP 7P main camera and a 12MP 5P ultra-wide camera. The iPhone 17 Slim will come with a single 48MP 7P rear camera.
The Pro models offer more advanced specifications. Both the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a sophisticated triple-camera system, including:
● Main Camera: 48MP 7-element lens (7P)
● Ultra-Wide Camera: 48MP 6P
● Periscope Telephoto Camera: 48MP with 1G+3P lens configuration
The iPhone 17 and 17 Slim will reportedly come with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, while the Pro models will include 12GB. Face ID continues to be a standard feature, using structured light technology for secure facial recognition. The iPhone 17 Pro Max will further enhance this feature with MetaLens technology, improving accuracy and speed. All four models will move to a higher resolution 24MP 6P FaceTime camera, up from 12MP 6P on the iPhone 16.
All iPhone 17 models will likely be released in September 2025. While Apple has already started development of the device, many of these specifications could change as the launch date nears.
