New battery capacities for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max have purportedly been leaked .
In a post on Weibo, known leaker 'Instant Digital' shared the following capacities...
● iPhone 16 Pro: 3577mAh
● iPhone 16 Pro Max: 4676mAh
Previous rumors had predicted that the new iPhone 16 lineup would have the following capacities:
● iPhone 16: 3561 mAh
● iPhone 16 Plus: 4006 mAh
● iPhone 16 Pro: 3355 mAh
● iPhone 16 Pro Max: 4676 mAh
Note that while the capacities for the iPhone 16 Pro Max match the previous model, the newly rumored battery capacity for the iPhone 16 Pro is significantly higher. If the new numbers are accurate, the iPhone 16 Pro would feature a 9.26% larger battery compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, which has a capacity of 3274mAh. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have a 5.29% larger battery than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which has a capacity of 4441mAh.
Earlier this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple will use a stainless steel battery case for iPhone 16 Pro Max for the first time. The new case is said to help with overheating and make battery replacement easier. This was corroborated by The Information who added that Apple will use induced adhesive debonding to allow users to dislodge the metal battery case from the chassis by applying a small jolt of electricity to the battery.
