Apple has released iOS 18.1 beta and iPadOS 18.1 beta to developers for testing. The build number is 22B5007p.
iOS 18.1 beta is an early preview of an update to iOS 18 that will be available later this fall. This beta introduces an initial set of features powered by Apple Intelligence.
To try the Apple Intelligence beta, join the waitlist in Settings and you will be notified as soon as it is ready for your device. Both device language and Siri language must be set to US English, and device region must be set to United States.
Apple Intelligence is available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple Intelligence is not currently available in the EU or China.
Please back up your iPhone before you install the beta.

Notably, this release appears to confirm recent reports that Apple would delay the launch of its artificial intelligence features, missing the initial release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. The delay will give the company more time to make improvements and fix bugs before the features arrive to consumers.
