New iPhone SE to Use Same Back Cover as iPhone 16 [Rumor]

The new iPhone SE will allegedly use the same back cover the next generation iPhone 16, according to a new rumor from 'Fixed Focus Digital'.

In a post on Weibo, the leaker said...

The SE4 back cover process is exactly the same as the standard version of the 16, and the shipping plan is probably around the end of September


Notably, this may correlate with a recent code references found in Apple's backend that reveal the company is working on five new iPhone models that will likely use the same A18 chip.

The iPhone identifiers spotted are:
● iPhone17,1
● iPhone17,2
● iPhone17,3
● iPhone17,4
● iPhone17,5

The first four models expected are the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The fifth model is uncertain but could potentially be the long-awaited new iPhone SE.

Previous rumors predicted that the new iPhone SE 4 would drop the home button and move to an iPhone 13/14 style design with a 6.1-inch display. Leaked renders show the front of the iPhone SE 4 with a notch similar to the iPhone 13/14 with Face ID; however, on the rear there is just a single camera to keep costs down. The dimensions of the device measure in at 147.7 x 71.5 x 7.7mm.
