Apple has announced that alternative payment options are now supported for visionOS apps distributed in the EU.

Alternative payment options are now supported starting in visionOS 1.2 for apps distributed on the App Store in the EU.

Currently, Apple requires developers that use alternative payment methods to pay the company commission fees.

If you support either alternative payment processing or link out to your webpage, you're responsible for paying a commission to Apple on the sale of digital goods and services in the EU. iOS apps on the App Store will pay a reduced commission of either 10% (for developers participating in the App Store Small Business Program and for subscriptions after their first year) or 17% on transactions for digital goods and services, regardless of payment processing system selected; while for iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS you'll get a 3% discount on the commission you owe to Apple. Later this fall, Apple will bring additional changes from iOS apps in the EU to iPadOS, including alternative distribution, at which time the reduced App Store commission and payment processing fee will apply.

Apple offered these payment options in response to the EU's Digital Markets Act; however, the EU has preliminarily determined that Apple is in violation of the legislation and there are still multiple compliance investigations ongoing.
