Apple is preparing to launch a new M4 MacBook Pro in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to a new report from Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
In a recent post on X, Young said he expects panel shipments for a new generation of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros to begin in third quarter of 2024. That would likely mean a launch of the M4 MacBook Pro in Q4.
The prediction corroborates an earlier report from Mark Gurman that outlined the following schedule for new M4 Mac launches...
● Low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 - End of 2024.
● 24-inch iMac with M4 - End of 2024
● 14-inch and 16-inch high-end MacBook Pros with M4 Pro/Max - Between End of 2024 and Early 2025
● Mac mini with M4 and M4 Pro - Between the End of 2024 and Early 2025
● 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs - Spring 2025
● Mac Studio with high-end M4 chip - Middle of 2025.
● Mac Pro with M4 Ultra chip - Second Half of 2025
Given that Apple failed to introduce any hardware updates at WWDC last week, it appears this schedule is likely accurate. Unfortunately, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro have yet to be upgraded with M3 chips, meaning users may have to wait another entire year for a spec bump.
