The next generation Apple Watch Series 10 will purportedly feature a larger display and a thinner design, according to a new report from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a post this morning, Kuo predicts a 4mm increase in display size for the Apple Watch Series 10, growing from 41mm and 45mm to approximately 45mm and 49mm. This would mark the largest size increase for the Apple Watch to date.
For reference, the Apple Watch Series 1 through 3 offered 38mm and 42mm display sizes. With the Series 4 through 6, Apple increased the sizes to 40mm and 44mm. The Series 7 through 9 saw a slight increase to 41mm and 45mm displays.
For those interested in the 49mm Apple Watch Ultra, specifications are expected to remain roughly the same; however, if production yields are good, Apple could introduce new black/dark case options.
Kuo says that the starting in 2H24, Apple Watch could include components that have been manufactured using 3D printing technology. Intensive testing over the past year has purportedly improved the production efficiency of 3D printing.
BLT is the supplier of the 3D-printed components. Unlike last year, when BLT was an equipment supplier, this year, this company will produce the components. Due to the cost advantages of 3D printing, BLT's shipments of 3D-printed components are expected to continue to grow in the coming years, with the potential to produce Apple Watch cases (as the difficulty is lower compared to the cases of other Apple products).
Apple is likely to unveil the Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 this fall alongside a new iPhone 16 lineup. The current generation Apple Watch Series 9 is on sale today for 25% off and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is on sale for $50 off.
