A prototype 3rd generation iPod has surfaced that features an unreleased Tetris clone.
The prototype device was acquired by YouTuber "Apple Demo". It was built for the Design Validation Testing stage of development.
A brand new video is out about my Prototype iPod 3rd Generation (DVT Stage)! On top of the amazing software and hardware this prototype has, it has a rather interesting backstory! I even contacted an ex-Apple engineer about this one! #appleinternal
Based on the serial number, the iPod was made on week 14 of 2003, about a month and a half before release. It has model number A1023 which interestingly is the same model number as Apple's iSight camera.
The iPod had two songs preloaded on it for 'Battery Testing'. It also had four games Block0, Chopper, Klondike, and Stacker. The stacker game is a Tetris clone that was never released.
