Apple just released its thinnest device ever, the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro. Inevitably, YouTubers have started posting bend tests to assess the tablet's durability.
Anticipating this, and looking to avoid another 'Bendgate,' Apple has taken steps to strengthen the M4 iPad Pro. In a recent video interview with Arun Maini, John Ternus and Greg Joswiak reveal that a new cowling has been added to strengthen the device. The cowling effectively creates a central rib that runs through the whole thing to tremendously improve the stiffness of the product
As you can see in the videos below, the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro offers impressive resistance to bending despite its thin body. Notably, the display appears to hold up very well, often continuing to work despite a bent and broken chassis.
While these tests don't do much to assess real world usage, it's comforting to know that the thinner iPad Pro doesn't compromise on durability!
