Apple has once again teased an unannounced Beats Pill speaker, this time with help from F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo.

Daniel Joseph Ricciardo is an Australian and Italian racing driver currently competing in Formula One for RB Formula One Team under the Australian flag. An image of Ricciardo carrying the new Beats Pill speaker was shared on the FORMULA 1 Instagram channel yesterday. The image is very similar to the video of LeBron James shared ahead of the playoff game at the Ball Arena in Denver.

The instagram post is only tagged with "Day one in Miami 😮‍💨 🌴". It shows Ricciardo walking with a Beats Pill hanging from his right hand. The speaker is clearly branded with the Beats logo and has a lanyard that wasn't found on previous versions of the device.

The first Beats Pill speaker was introduced in 2012, following the brand's success in headphones. It featured a distinctive pill-shaped design and aimed produce clear, full-range sound that was robust for its size. After its acquisition of Beats, Apple introduced a new Beats Pill+ speaker in October 2015. That version was slightly larger with top-mounted volume controls and a Beats logo button. It also switched to Lightning from micro-USB.

It's unclear when Apple plans to release this new speaker, but marketing leaks to generate interest in the device suggest that it could arrive soon! Notably, Apple did just release new Beats Solo Buds and Beats Solo 4 headphones. Surprisingly, the Pill speaker wasn't announced alongside those devices. Perhaps Apple will debut it alongside new iPads at its May 'Let Loose' event.
