AT&T has announced a new 'Turbo' add-on that customers can purchase to get 'enhanced data connectivity' for 'real-time responsiveness'.

Built to support high-performance mobile applications, like gaming, social video broadcasting and live video conferencing, with optimized data while customers are on the go. AT&T Turbo allows users the choice to optimize their network when they want by adding additional network resources to their mobile data connection.

"With AT&T Turbo, we are the first to give customers the choice to activate enhanced data with a few clicks. We know customers want more control of their experience, especially while on the go, and AT&T Turbo answers that call by putting it all at our customers' fingertips," said Erin Scarborough, senior vice president of consumer product for AT&T. "Today is only the beginning of how AT&T plans to enhance the customer experience through our network and we look forward to evolving the possibilities of AT&T Turbo in the future."

It appears that Turbo subscribers will not get access to new technologies, but rather their traffic will get assigned to a QCI (Quality of Service Class) with increased network resources, providing higher performance than previously available.

How do you get it?
Customers can easily add AT&T Turbo, priced at $7/month per line on eligible plans, through the myATT app or online.

The service will boost all the high-speed and hot spot data on a user's connection while active. Once turned on, the boost applies to any customer data regardless of the internet content, applications, and services being used.
