Apple has announced the launch of HomePod and HomePod mini in Malaysia and Thailand. The smart speakers will be available purchase in both countries starting May 10.

Designed to work in perfect harmony, the new HomePod leverages advanced computational audio to deliver groundbreaking acoustics, while HomePod mini offers big sound in a beautifully compact design.

In addition to functioning as smart speakers, HomePod and HomePod mini connect to and control Matter-enabled accessories, and serve as home hubs, giving users access to their smart home accessories when away from home.

Apple released the original HomePod back in 2018, then in November 2020 it released HomePod mini as a smaller and cheaper option. The first generation HomePod was discontinued in March 2021 and nearly two years passed before Apple released the second generation HomePod in February 2023.

HomePod (2nd generation) is compatible with iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later, or iPhone 8 and later; or iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation) and later, iPad Air (3rd generation) and later, or iPad mini (5th generation) and later.

HomePod mini is compatible with iPhone SE, iPhone 6s or later, or iPod touch (7th generation); or iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation or later), iPad Air 2 or later, or iPad mini 4 or later.

HomePod 2 is currently on sale for $279 ($20 off) and HomePod mini is on sale for $94.99 ($4.01 off).
