TikTok has just launched a new app for photo posts called 'TikTok Notes'.

TikTok Notes is a lifestyle platform that offers informative photo-text content about people's lives, where you can see individuals sharing their travel tips, daily recipes...

Unlike Instagram, the app's main page is a grid of photos that allows users to view multiple posts at once. Tapping into a post, you can then swipe between photos in a carousel. You can comment below the photo and follow your favorite accounts.

TikTok Notes can be downloaded from the App Store for free at the link below...

What is TikTok Notes?

TikTok Notes is an app for people to share their moments through photo posts. Whether you're documenting your adventures, expressing your thoughts, or simply sharing snapshots of your day, the experience is designed for those who would like to share and engage through photo content.

Getting started on TikTok Notes

Your TikTok account is linked with TikTok Notes so that you can stay logged in and navigate between the two apps, using the existing information you provided when creating an account. If you don't have a TikTok account, you can sign up through TikTok Notes.

Important things to know before the app becomes available:
• If you have a public TikTok account, you may receive a notice to make your public photo posts visible on TikTok Notes.
• Your TikTok account privacy settings will be automatically applied to your TikTok Notes profile before you download and log into the app.

Posting on TikTok Notes

To create content on TikTok Notes, you can post directly within the app and you can also make any of your photo posts from the TikTok app visible on TikTok Notes. Your original post on TikTok will display a link to let others know that it's also available on TikTok Notes.

If you choose to make your TikTok photo posts visible on TikTok Notes:

Before you download and log in to the app
• Your TikTok Notes profile will be visible and ready to use.
• Your profile and existing public photo posts will be visible and searchable by your TikTok username on TikTok Notes.
• If you're under 18 years old, your TikTok Notes profile is set to private by default.
• If you delete one of the public photo posts on TikTok, the post will also be deleted from TikTok Notes.
• If you deactivate or delete your TikTok account before the app becomes available, all posts on TikTok Notes will be deleted. When you reactivate your account, previous photo posts won't be recovered on TikTok Notes.

After you download and log in to the app
• You can choose to share your photo posts to TikTok Notes on the post screen in TikTok (this setting is turned off by default).
• Your posts on TikTok Notes will have their own set of analytics (like post views, likes, and comments), and are separate from the analytics in TikTok.

Keep in mind that TikTok Notes is focused on photo posts, so any sound on your TikTok posts will be removed when you post them to TikTok Notes.

Your account settings on TikTok Notes

Once you download and sign up or log in to the app, you can manage your privacy settings and profile information independently on TikTok Notes.

Privacy settings and profile information you can manage independently on TikTok Notes:

● Account type: You can choose whether to have a private account or a public account on TikTok Notes.
● Who can comment on my posts: You can turn comments on or off for each of your posts.
● Following: You can follow different accounts on each app. When you first log in to TikTok Notes, you'll be shown a list of accounts you follow on TikTok and you can choose whether or not to follow the same accounts on TikTok Notes.
● Nickname: You have the option to have a different nickname for each app.
● Profile photo: You have the option to have a different profile photo for each app.

Note: Any changes you make to the above settings or profile information will only apply to your TikTok Notes profile.

Account settings shared between TikTok and TikTok Notes:

● Username: Your TikTok account and TikTok Notes profile share the same username. Any changes to your username in the TikTok app will also apply to your TikTok Photo profile.
● Blocked accounts: Accounts you've blocked will be blocked in both TikTok and TikTok Notes.
● Family Pairing: Parents and guardians can continue to customize safety settings for their teens through Family Pairing on TikTok. Keep in mind that discoverability and comments need to be managed directly on TikTok Notes.

Deleting your posts and profile

To delete your posts, you can delete each of your posts directly in TikTok Notes. If you delete a photo post in TikTok, it won't be automatically deleted in TikTok Notes after you download and log in to the app. Keep in mind that before you download and log in to the app, photo posts you delete in TikTok will also be deleted in TikTok Notes.

To delete your TikTok Notes profile, you can submit a request through the Manage TikTok account setting. Keep in mind that if you submit a request, we'll delete both your TikTok account and TikTok Notes profile and you'll no longer have access to either. Alternatively, you can choose to deactivate both your TikTok account and TikTok Notes profile and we'll keep your data so you can recover it anytime.

To reactivate your TikTok Notes profile, you can log into the app with the same login credentials you previously used. Your TikTok account will also be reactivated.

To request a copy of your TikTok Notes data, you can use our Download your data tool to request your data which may include but is not limited to, your username, photo history, comment history, and privacy settings.
