Security researcher Joseph Ravichandran has found what may be the world's first kernel exploit for Apple's Vision Pro headset.

Ravichandran, also know @0xjprx, is a PhD Student studying Microarchitectural Security at MIT. He announced his accomplishment in a post on X.

The world's first(?) kernel exploit for Vision Pro- on launch day!

@0xjprx notes that when the Vision Pro crashes it switches to full passthrough and displays a warning to remove the device in 30 seconds so it can reboot.

Notably, Apple has already issued a warning to discourage users from jailbreaking their device.

Jailbreaking your device eliminates security layers designed to protect your personal information and your visionOS device. With this security removed from your visionOS device, hackers may steal your personal information, damage your device, attack your network, or introduce malware, spyware, or viruses.

It's unclear if @0xjprx's efforts will lead to a public jailbreak. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for more updates.
