The iPhone 15 Pro Max topped Ookla's rankings with the fastest median download speed in Q4 2023, according to its latest Speedtest report.
Our analysis of the most popular devices in the U.S. during Q4 2023 showed that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max recorded the fastest median download speed, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro. These two leading devices were followed by the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the iPhone 15.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max had a median download speed of 213.84 Mbps, significantly higher than the iPhone 15 Pro at 189.33 Mbps and the Samsung Galaxy Fold4 at 184.69 Mbps. In regards to upload speed, the iPhone 15 Pro Max had a median upload speed of 14.70 Mbps versus the iPhone 15 Pro at 12.90 Mbps and the Galaxy Fold4 at 12.41 Mbps.
Notably, Samsung has a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for tomorrow at which it will likely unveil a new Galaxy S24 smartphone. We'll be watched to see if the company is able to leapfrog Apple in download speeds this quarter.
