Apple is set to begin mass shipments of its new Vision Pro headset in the first week of January 2024, according to a new report from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a recent post, Kuo says that Vision Pro will be the most important product for Apple in 2024. Additionally, the analyst believes that mass production is currently underway with mass shipments to start next month.
Shipments in 2024 are estimated to be approximately 500,000 units. Vision Pro is currently in mass production and will begin mass shipments in the first week of January 2024.
Kuo believes that Vision Pro will arrive in stores in late January or early February based on that schedule. Also the analyst says that if Vision Pro is better than expected, it could strengthen consensus that AR/VR headsets are the next big thing for consumer electronics.
If user feedback on Vision Pro is better than expected, it will help strengthen the market consensus that "Vision Pro is the next star product in consumer electronics" and the related supply chain stock price.

Finally, Kuo also predicts that Apple will hold a new Mac media event in the fourth quarter of 2024 to end off the year. It's unclear what devices would be released at this event. It seems to be a long wait for updated M3 Mac Studio and Mac Pro devices given the release of M3 MacBooks this year. Notably, Kuo's event schedule doesn't have a spring Apple event.
