Apple has halted online sales of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the United States.
Earlier this week, the company announced that it would stop online sales at 3pm on December 21 and retail sales after December 24 to comply with an import ban ordered by the International Trade Commission. Apple has been found guilty of infringing on patents held by Masimo Corporation and Cercacor Laboratories, Inc. with its blood oxygen feature.
Technically, President Biden has until December 25th to veto the ITC's ruling; however, we've haven't seen any signals to suggest that will happen. If Biden does not veto the ruling, Apple says it will "take all measures to return Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 to customers in the U.S. as soon as possible."
Notably, the Apple Watch is still available at third party retailers. The Apple Watch Series 9 is currently on sale at Amazon.com for $329 (down from $399) and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is on sale for $699 (down from $799). It's likely these prices will go up if inventory dries out.
