Rumor Claims Next Generation Apple Watch Will Not Work With Current Bands

Another rumor has corroborated reports of a major change to Apple Watch next year, making current bands incompatible with the next generation smartwatch.

In a post on X, leaker Kosutami says...

Connectors of next generation of Watch has completely redesigned…
Literally if you have old bands now, just sell it🤷‍♀️It's 100% accurate

Additionally, the leaker says the current connectors are being redesigned because they take up "a lot of space".

This prediction corroborates prior reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman who also expects a thinner next generation Apple Watch with new band connectors. It's possible that Apple could offer an adapter to connect old bands to the new connector, but we'll have to wait and see.

As a reminder, Apple is halting direct sales of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the USA tomorrow, due to a patent infringement ruling. The Apple Watch Series 9 is currently on sale at Amazon.com for $329 (down from $399) and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is on sale for $699 (down from $799). It's likely these prices will go up if inventory dries out. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for further updates.
