Apple Watch With 'New Look' Coming Next Year [Gurman]

Apple is planning to introduce at least one new Apple Watch model with a "new look" next year, according to a report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
It's unclear which model will get the new design, but it's likely the Apple Watch Series 10 or Apple Watch Series X, rather than the more recent Apple Watch Ultra. Gurman previously reported that the smartwatch could get a thinner case and a new way of attaching watch bands. In addition to the new look, Apple will purportedly introduce hypertension and sleep apnea detection features, which could drive more sales.
The current Apple Watch lineup isn't expected to sell well this holiday season, and a lack of compelling features is part of the reason why. There were hardly any major changes to the device this year. Though the new double-tap gesture is cool, it's not a reason to upgrade. Nor is a new chip or slightly brighter screen. But the upcoming health features should have real marketing power. Imagine when Apple is able to make an ad touting how it invented the ability to take a blood pressure reading from the wrist. I think that's going to sell a lot of devices.
If you can't hold out for next year's model, you can grab both the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 at significant discounts today. The Apple Watch Series 9 is on sale starting at $329 (down from $399) and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is on sale for just $699 (down from $799).
We'll likely learn more about the new Apple Watch models closer to their launch next fall. Make sure to download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for further updates.
