iPhone 16 to Get Improved 'Graphene Thermal System' [Rumor]

Apple is purportedly working on an improved graphene thermal system to reduce iPhone overheating, according to leaker Kosutami.

In a post on X, the leaker claims that changes to the thermal system for the iPhone 16 could include a metal shell for the battery.

Apple is actively working on graphene thermal system of iPhone 16 Series to solve the heating problem existing before. And the battery of Pro series would change to metal shell, for the same reason.

Kosutami later clarified that the thermal system was a "better version graphene heating system than the existing one". Graphene, a one-atom-thick layer of carbon atoms arranged in a hexagonal lattice, is known for its exceptional thermal conductivity, strength, and electrical conductivity. It can be used to efficiently transfer and dissipate heat generated by the phone's processor and other components during operation.

Notably, there were numerous reports of the iPhone 15 overheating when first launched. Apple largely addressed these issues with the release of iOS 17.0.3.
