Apple has revealed that it is not planning to release a 27-inch iMac with Apple Silicon.
The company has confirmed it will not replace the 27-inch Intel iMac with one that features an M-series chip in a statement to The Verge.
Apple PR representative Starlayne Meza confirmed the company's plans to The Verge. The company encourages those who have been holding out hope for a larger iMac to consider the Studio Display and Mac Studio or Mac Mini, which pair a 27-inch 5K screen with a separate computer, compared to the all-in-one design of the iMac.
It's likely Apple's statement is meant to convince customers to pull the trigger on its new 24-inch M3 iMac, rather than waiting for a version with a larger display. However, the company's statement does not rule out the release of a larger (32-inch?) iMac Pro which is rumored to be under development for 2024 or 2025.
The 2023 iMac is already available to pre-order starting at $1299. You can learn more about its features here:
