Ecobee has announced the launch of a new 'Smart Doorbell Camera' featuring a vertical field of view, crystal clear vision day or night, and radar sensing technology. The camera also integrates with the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium to show a live stream directly on the thermostat screen.
The ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera (wired) sees what others can't by letting you see more of what's really happening at your door, day or night. Get real-time notifications for people and packages whether you're home or away, and get the full picture with our industry-leading field of view. Automatically track, pan, and zoom-in on important activity at your front door in full 1080p HD quality with built-in radar and Smart Focus. That's something to get excited about.
"We set out to make a doorbell camera that would stand apart from the rest. One that could see what others can't–like visitors from head-to-toe and packages right up against your door–even in extreme weather. Our new Smart Doorbell Camera gives homeowners the full picture with crystal clear vision, day or night," said ecobee founder & CEO Stuart Lombard. "The new Smart Doorbell Camera works even better with the rest of our ecobee smart home devices and Smart Security service, from showing a livestream of the camera right on the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium to detecting the difference between people and packages on your doorstep."
● 175° vertical field of view, so homeowners can see packages right up against their door and guests from head to toe.
● Enhanced low light vision and cinematic 1080p HD video
● Integrates with ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium to show a live stream on thermostat screen
● Talk to guests from anywhere via the ecobee app, Apple Watch, and Smart Thermostat Premium
● Machined-glass front and an aluminum alloy back casing
● IP65 waterproofing and dust protection
● Can operate in temperatures ranging from -13 to 113°F
● Customers can set an Activity Zone to focus motion and person detection
The Smart Doorbell Camera offers live view and historical snapshots without a Smart Security subscription. The standard Smart Security subscription ($5/month) adds 30 day video history, package detection, and rich push notifications for one camera. The complete plan ($10/month) enables these features for unlimited cameras. Additionally, with the complete plan, RapidSOS agents can verify an emergency before securely sharing critical data with 911, including video evidence captured by Smart Doorbell Camera.
Starting today, subscribers with a Smart Thermostat Premium can share a pin with trusted guests, like a dogwalker or childcare provider, so they can arm or disarm the home directly through a keypad screen on the thermostat. The system can also pause heating or cooling when a door or window is left open to avoid wasting energy. Plus, it can send an alert when it detects a smoke alarm or when there is a sudden temperature drop that could lead to frozen pipes.
The ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera is available today for $159.99.
The ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera can be controlled with the ecobee app or Apple Watch, or via Alexa and Apple HomeKit. Support for Google Assistant is coming soon. Homeowners can hear their doorbell from anywhere in the home with whole home chime, projected through any ecobee, Alexa or HomeKit device with a speaker.
