The iPhone 15 Pro offers faster download speeds than any other mobile device in the United States, according to a third quarter Mobile and Broadband Speeds report from Ookla.
Our analysis of the most popular devices in the U.S. during Q3 2023 show that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max recorded the fastest median download speed, followed by the iPhone 15 Pro. These two leading devices were followed by the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold4, and the Google Pixel 7 Pro.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max was measured to have a median download speed of 251.37 Mbps and median upload speed of 16.68 Mbps. That's higher than the iPhone 15 Pro at 227.41/14.59 Mbps and much higher than its closest rival, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra at 159.15/13.81 Mbps.
For comparison, the iPhone 14 Pro Max placed fourth on list in Q2 with speeds of 127.83/13.08 Mbps, but didn't even make the list for Q3.
If you're wondering which carrier was fastest, T-Mobile easily took the lead.
Looking only at tests taken on a 5G connection, T-Mobile had the fastest median 5G download speed in the U.S. at 221.57 Mbps during Q3 2023, in line with its performance during Q2 2023. Verizon Wireless remained second and saw a significant increase to 153.79 Mbps in Q3 2023, up from 133.50 Mbps in Q2 2023. AT&T remained third, but also showed an increase, recording 101.55 Mbps in Q3 2023, up from 86.01 Mbps in Q2 2023.
