iFixit has shared a new teardown video that takes a 'Microscopic Look Inside the iPhone 15'.
Today we're taking an up close look at the iPhone 15, and I mean up close. We had a couple of partners on this teardown. Thanks to Evident Scientific we had a microscope in the office this year, and all our zoomed in shots came from the DSX1000 they kindly allowed us to borrow. And as always our friends at Creative Electron provided us with a preview of the innards of the iPhone 15 through the magic of x-ray vision.
The site notes that while on paper it seems that these phones are more repairable, parts pairing remains a huge problem on all Apple devices.
"We recently had to rescore the iPhone 14 from a 7 down to a 4 out of 10 as we incorporated parts pairing into our revamped scoring rubric. And so, with the expectation that parts and manuals will be released in the near future, we've given the iPhone 15 a provisional score of 4 out of 10. While the modular design is a definite repairability win, parts pairing remains a huge obstacle
just as we saw the iPhone 15 Pro Max."
