Apple has enabled NameDrop for Apple Watch in watchOS 10.1 beta seeded to developers earlier today.

NameDrop allows users to easily share contact information by bringing Apple Watch close to someone else's iPhone. Apple Watch users can also use NameDrop by tapping the Share button in My Card in the Contacts app, or by tapping the My Card watch face complication, and then bringing Apple Watch face to face with someone else's Apple Watch.

watchOS 10.1 will likely be released for all users in October.

Here's how to use NameDrop for iPhone:
1. Hold the top of your iPhone near the top of someone else's iPhone to share your contact.
2. A glow emerge from the top of both devices to indicate a connection is being made. Continue holding and NameDrop will appear on both screens.

You and the recipient can then select the following:
● Receive Only: Receive the other iPhone's contact card.
● Share: Receive the other iPhone's contact card, and share your own as well.

To cancel, move the two devices away from each other before NameDrop completes. Note that NameDrop only works for sending new contact information, not updating an existing contact.
