Apple may sell an optional USB4 Gen2 data transfer cable for the iPhone 15 Pro, according to a new rumor from @KosutamiSan.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Kosutami says this new cable will support USB4 Gen2 (based on Thunderbolt) and be 0.8m long. The USB4 Version 2.0 specification supports up to 80 Gbps of data performance over the USB Type-C cable and connector.

In a subsequent post, Kosutami corrects the cable's charge capability to 150W.

Correct: Up to 150W Charging

Notably, a recent report from ChargerLab also corroborates support for USB4 on iPhone 15. The site found a mysterious IC on leaked images that is likely a retimer chip for Thunderbolt support.

While it's unlikely that the iPhone 15 Pro will take full advantage of the cable's rumored 150W charging capability, rumors have suggested that it will support faster charging of up to 35W.
