The next generation iPhone 15 may support fast charging speeds of up to 35W, according to a new rumor from 9to5Mac. This feature could arrive as Apple is forced to ditch Lightning in favor of USB-C.

Industry sources told 9to5Mac that at least some of the new iPhone 15 models can be recharged with up to 35W, which should enable even faster charging speeds on the new phones. Currently, the iPhone 14 Pro is limited to charging at 27W, while the regular iPhone 14 is limited to 20W. To fully recharge an iPhone 14 Pro Max at these speeds, it takes approximately two hours.

Notably, Apple already sells as 35W dual USB-C power adapter. If the rumor is true, this adapter may be able to use its entire 35W power output to charge a single iPhone.

In addition to fast charging, the new USB-C port is expected to support Thunderbolt / USB4 high speed 40Gbps data transmission.

Apple is set to unveil its new iPhone 15 models at a special event next month. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for more updates.
