Another Report Corroborates September 22 Launch Date for iPhone 15

Another report has corroborated a rumor that Apple could release its new iPhone 15 models on September 22.

Last week, 9to5Mac suggested that Apple may be planning to hold its event to unveil the iPhone 15 on Wednesday, September 13th. That would likely put iPhone 15 on Friday, September 15th and release on Friday, September 22nd.

Today Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, predicted the same September 22nd release day, but suggested either a September 12th or September 13th unveiling.

Apple is poised to suffer its fourth straight quarterly sales decrease, something that hasn't happened since 2001. That's a tough backdrop for the iPhone 15, which I'm told will go on sale around Sept. 22 — following an event planned for either Sept. 12 or Sept. 13. The timing means Apple will get about a week of iPhone 15 sales in its fiscal fourth quarter, which runs through September.

Apple is planning numerous updates to entice customers to purchase its new models. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are both expected to get Dynamic Island and Ceramic Shield; however, rumors suggest the iPhone 15 Pro will have thinner bezels, a titanium frame, and 8GB of RAM.

The iPhone 15 Pro will likely utilize an A17 Bionic chip made with TSMC's 3nm process, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will stick with the A16 Bionic and 6GB of RAM. All four models will purportedly have a USB-C port and Qualcomm's 5G Snapdragon X70 modem.

Finally, it's predicted the iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a periscope telephoto lens for better optical zoom while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could get a 48MP rear camera lens.
