Apple CEO Tim Cook will finally detail the company's AI playbook at WWDC 2023 tomorrow, according to a new report from Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives.
AI strategy will be front and center at WWDC. While every tech stalwart has announced its own AI strategy with Microsoft/ChatGPT front and center, Apple has been very quiet and non-existent on this front so far. We believe this is about to change as we are expecting Cook & Co. to discuss Apple's AI strategy looking ahead and how the company can integrate and ultimately monetize its customer base around future generative AI coming from Cupertino. We expect Apple to head down the path to have its own AI driven solution that will be integrated within the Apple ecosystem and enable consumers to further tap into their iOS data, video, music, applications, and Apple devices through next generation AI capabilities.
Ives also reiterates some rumors about the Reality Pro mixed reality headset. He believes that the device will come with many apps and use cases. It will allegedly be made of aluminum, carbon fiber, and glass for a reduced weight and feature two 1.41 inch Micro OLED screens with pixel density of 4,000 ppi and 5,000 nits of peak brightness. Initial shipments given the high price points (~$3000) are expected to be roughly 150k units for Year 1 based on recent Asia supply chain checks.
Besides the headset, Apple is set to introduce several other new products at WWDC which could include a new 15-inch MacBook Air and Mac Studio at 10am PT on July 5. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for full coverage of the event.
