Both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger and taller displays, according to a new report from Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants.

Sharing DSCC's latest Apple display roadmap, Young says the iPhone 16 Pro will be updated with a 6.27-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will get a 6.86-inch display. That's up from 6.12-inches and 6.69-inches, respectively. Both will feature a new 19.6:9 aspect ratio which is taller than the 19.5:9 aspect ratio currently used by the iPhone 14 Pro.

Notably, the non-pro iPhone 16 models are not expected to get larger displays and will continue to feature 60Hz LTPS displays in 2024. Only with the launch of the iPhone 17 in 2025 does DSCC expect Apple to introduce the larger and taller 19.6:9 120Hz LTPO displays to its standard model iPhones.

This report lines up with a previously leaked CAD files and with a report that claimed Apple would increase the size of the iPhone 16 Pro to introduce a periscope lens to that model.

Apple isn't expected to unveil the iPhone 16 until fall of 2024 so even if accurate these plans could change. Please download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for the latest updates.
