The next generation iPhone 15 will allegedly support wireless fast charging at 15W without the need for a certified MagSafe charger, according to a post on Naver by user yeux1122.
The Apple iPhone 15 series is said to be capable of open 15W wireless fast charging even if it is not a certified wireless charger.
Note that starting with the iPhone 8, it supported 7.5W Qi protocol wireless charging, and the iPhone 12, 13, and 14 series were capable of 15W wireless charging using MagSafe magnetic technology.
It's possible the device will support the new Qi2 wireless charging standard announced by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) in January. That standard is based on Apple's MagSafe technology.
The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has announced an upcoming new Qi2 wireless charging standard that is based on MagSafe. Apple and other WPC members developed the new Magnetic Power Profile, which is at the core of Qi2. It ensures that phones or other rechargeable battery-powered mobile products are perfectly aligned with charging devices, thus providing improved energy efficiency and faster charging.
