Apple has published its very first annual report on App Store operations. The 2022 App Store Transparency Report contains various statistics about the apps on the App Store, including number of apps, submissions, reviews, rejections, removals, government takedown requests, appeals, and more.
Since it launched in 2008, the App Store has proven to be a safe and trusted place to discover and download apps. Our App Store Transparency Report provides data about how we operate the App Store in all 175 countries and regions where it's available. Below you'll find information about our efforts to help keep the App Store a safe and trusted place for users to find apps they love. This report covers data from 2022, and we'll update the information annually.
Currently, Apple has 36,974,015 total registered developers and 1,783,232 total apps on the App Store. In total, 186,195 apps have been removed by Apple. China far out paces any other country for takedown requests, totaling 1435 in 2022.
