Apple has booked nearly 90% of TSMC's 3nm capacity to make chips for its upcoming new iPhones, MacBooks, and iPads, according to a new report from DigiTimes.

TSMC will see the baseline 3nm process technology (N3B) dominate 90% of its N3 family capacity in 2023, and nearly 90% of the N3B capacity reportedly has been booked by Apple for new iPhones, MacBooks, and iPads for the year, which will bolster the pure-play foundry's revenue growth in the second quarter and enable it to post only single-digit revenue fall for the whole year amid market headwinds.

Chips built on TSMC's 3nm process have increased transistor density, resulting in better performance and reduced power consumption. Apple is expected to introduce a new 3nm A17 chip for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Additionally, the company's next generation M3 chip for Mac will likely be 3nm as well.

The new iPhone 15 is expected to launch this fall and the new M3 MacBooks are rumored for launch by the end of the year.
