All Four iPhone 15 Models to Get 48MP Rear Camera [Report]

All four iPhone 15 models will reportedly be getting a 48MP rear camera this year, according to a new report from Haitong Intl Tech Research analyst Jeff Pu.
Notably, Pu also said there may be some production issues for the stacked CMOS image sensors that will be used in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
For iPhone 15, we were the first to point our that the iPhone 15 Pro series to move back to physical button design, compared to prior expectations of a solid-state button, due to chip's failure rate. Still, we expect iPhone 15 series' new spec to be camera (i.e., periscope for PM, 3-stacked sensor for 15/15 Plus, ToF), DRAM, casing, and the 3nm processors, etc. Among those, our recent supply chain survey suggests a likely yield issue for the iPhone 15/15+ stacked CIS; thus, we'd continue to monitor the risks of production schedule.
To separate the higher-end iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple will purportedly equip that model with a periscope lens. TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo first predicted that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max would get a periscope lens back in July 2022. He believes that the lens will be supplied exclusively by Largan and have the following specifications: 1/3" 12MP, f/2.8, sensor-shift support, and 5–6x optical zoom.
Apple isn't set to unveil its new iPhone 15 models until this fall but you can download the iClarified app or follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and RSS for more updates. Check out this hands-on video with a physical mockup of the iPhone 15 Pro Max while you wait!
